Plot Summary
Cancer Rising is the story of a passionate love affair between two people with different backgrounds. Pierre is a marketing company director. Tony lives a Bohemian life with her husband and their four year old daughter Mouse. Their first lovemaking holds an unusual and fascinating quality for Pierre. He buys a big house with the intention to have Tony and Mouse come and live with him. Tony refuses, she is afraid he is trying to thrust his own way of life on her, imperilling her independence. Tony moves into a houseboat, invites Pierre to go with her and her friends for a holiday in the Ardennes. The holiday results in a total breakdown between Tony and Pierre: they don’t know how they can without each other, yet they would never be able to live together.
